This year’s Gamescom in Cologne was a blast, and an overwhelming success to say the least. 16 meetings (no cancellations) and over 40 new business contacts in three days. Mostly thanks to Steve Ince, Jeremiah Costello and Jim Murdoch for the introductions, who have all been a great help in getting my business off the ground. My favourite event of the week, it must be said, was the Adventure Treff meet-up at a beach club downriver from the Messe. This intimate and chilled-out event was the perfect cap to a hectic week, with Pina Coladas on deck chairs, watching the ship traffic go by. More information to come on new script writing tools from the University of Duisberg and Nevigo in Bochum, both of which I saw presentations of during the week and will equally change the way games are designed.
